How I Help

Psychologists use a variety of therapy approaches to help people. It is important that your Psychologist works in ways that make sense to you and help you reach your goals.

My Approach

My approach to the practice of therapy is deeply informed by current research, best practices, advanced clinical training, and decades of professional experience. The psychological treatments and interventions I use are customized to meet the needs of my clients. The approaches and interventions that are chosen are based heavily on psychological research, my clinical judgment and my clients’ needs and circumstances. While I do tend to work very frequently from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model to treat clinical conditions, I may also conceptualize and customize a client’s treatment plan using another or several other psychological approaches including:

  • Exposure Based Therapies

  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Recovery Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Person Centered Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

  • Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (AF-EMDR)

  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy (for PTSD)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (for PTSD)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (for OCD)
